Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTA ANN GROTHE (nee FRIESEN) January 14, 1948 - January 26, 2016 Peacefully, Roberta Ann Grothe, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, after a lengthy illness at the age of 68. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Ethel Friesen. She is survived by her husband, Fritz Grothe; brother Peter (Nancy) Friesen; brothers-in-law Frank (Gil) Grothe, Ralph (Linda) Grothe; and sister-in-law Doris (Kevin) Boutilier as well as numerous nephews and nieces. The memorial service for Roberta Grothe will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Elim Chapel, 546 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0G3. Parking is available on the street. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service with family will follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are invited to make a donation to Elim Chapel, 564 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 0G3.

Roberta was a bright , beautiful person who touched many lives. She was adored by her mother and father. As she made her way through life, she did the very best she could. She will be remembered as someone who never meant any harm and always found good in others. A bright light that is now shining in a better place. - Posted by: Peter W.R. Roberta has now gone the way of all humankind, that final guaranteed walk all of us will take sooner or later. When compared to the spread of Eternity her stay in our degenerate, fallen world was but oh so brief, albeit oft filled with incomprehensible pain and suffering. As a daughter of Eve she has passed through that dread door of death, death being the ultimate consequence of human rebellion against its Creator. However as a committed follower of Jesus Christ, death had no permanent hold on Roberta. Her spirit then – after her physical passing, came into the glorious presence of the Saviour where there are “eternal pleasures” and where “God … wipe(ed) every tear from (her) eyes”.
