PAUL SALUK November 22, 1932 - February 2, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Paul, at the age of 83 years, on February 2, 2016 at the Beausejour Hospital. Dad was predeceased by his parents John and Tillie, his sisters Elsie and Anne, brothers Mike and Harry, and nephew Mitch. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Edna; children Randy (Shirley), Darrell (Shelly) and Brad (Nancy); grandchildren Steven (Brittany), Mark (Kaitlyn), D.J., Jaclyn, and Justin; great-granddaughter Natalie, and sister-in-law Helen, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born and raised in Sandhill, MB. Dad loved the land and was a farmer at heart, but his true love was Mom. Dad and Mom were married on June 11, 1955. In 1957 they purchased their family homestead and began their family shortly after. Dad was a hardworking, modest man with a huge heart. His family was everything to him and he considered this his greatest accomplishment. He held a special place in his heart for each of us, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy. The love he had for them was immeasurable. He greeted them with his huge smile and warm hug each time they visited. Dad's favourite saying was "Thanks for coming". He was always concerned for his family and wanted to know that everyone was okay, even in his last days. The family would like to express their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Beausejour Hospital and Dr. Van Rensburg for their compassionate care. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with interment to follow in Sandhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Beausejour Hospital. • Sorry tow hear of Uncle Paul's passing. I have good memories when we as a family went out to Bobba & Geto's farm . Mitch & I were always entertained by Uncle Paul & Uncle Mike One recollection I have of Uncle Paul is him driving a car in reverse standing on the running board.I thought that was awesome. . Those memories will never be forgotten. After Uncle Paul & Aunt Edna married we enjoyed visiting them on our way home after visiting the grandparents. I always enjoyed Aunt Edna's excellent meals prior to heading back home to Winnipeg. My mouth still waters thinking of them. Lynne and I sorry that we will be unable to attend the funeral. We feel bad for it. We had just arrived in Arizona Monday evening & were saddened to hear of Uncle Pauls's passing through e-mails from cousin Darrell & our daughter. We might have been able to catch a flight home, but our biggest challenge is company (cousin & his wife) flying in from Winnipeg friday to visit & stay with us for 10 days. I hope you accept our apologies ; we express our condolences to Aunt Edna & family. Aunt Edna we'll make a point to come visit you & your family this summer if not sooner. Please take care, Garry/Lynne - Posted by: Garry Domenco (Nephew) on: Feb 05, 2016

  • Paul was a very respectful, quiet, kind man. As a child, I lived next door to Paul and Edna. I spent many Saturdays watching Zorro on their T.V. (we did not have one). Edna prepared wonderful lunches and my parents came later in the evening to get me. I will always remember that kindness. God Bless you, Paul and your loving wife as she journeys through this sad time in her life without you. You were special people in my childhood and I will remember you always with the utmost respect.
