Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA YACYNA 1924 2016 Peacefully, on February 5, 2016, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home to our Lord. Olga is survived by her daughter Kathy (Allan) Baryski, two grandchildren Bill (Shelley) Baryski, Kara (Cory) Christie and two cherished great-grandaughters Alexis and Paige Christie. She was predeceased by her husband Bill of 57 years in 2004, her three sisters Helen, Kay and Josie and her parents Sam and Mary Dudar. Olga was born on June 22, 1924. She married Bill on May 31, 1947. She worked at Empire Drugs and Brothers Pharmacy for many years. She was a member of 141 Legion and Kniahynia Ol'ha where she held executive positions. Olga was a very good cook and was known for her peroshke and sending food to her family and friends in time of need. She was also known for her green thumb. She had the ability to grow anything and saved many plants and flowers from their owners throughout the years. Olga was also a dedicated bingo player and enjoyed the game thoroughly until she lost her sight. She enjoyed Falcon Lake and spending time at the cottage with her family where she made many friends. Olga will be remembered as an adventurous, fun loving grandmother who was up for anything, even a ride on the slip and slide. Many nights were spent with Granny passing down funny stories to her grandchildren about family, friends and their adventures. Her grandchildren will be forever grateful for passing down her talents for cooking to Bill and her green thumb to Kara. Olga adored her great-grandaughters and was fortunate enough to spend time with them. She loved her visits with the girls and always called them her sweethearts. As per Olga's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Her family would like to thank all the staff at Donwood Manor for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Vichnaya Pamyat Korban Funeral Chapel 204-956-2193

I will always remember Ollie, she was a very special lady and meant a lot to me. She was a dear friend to my Mother Eva Stringer and a bunch of Ladies at Edgewood Estates. They all used to go out on outings and bingo and lunches together. I have since moved away but think of her often. She will be sadly missed. Eva - Posted by: Eva Oakes (dear friend) on: Mar 16, 2016
