Born: Jun 14, 1944
Date of Passing: Feb 06, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDYTA (EDITH) NOWAK (nee CZOSNEK) June 14, 1944 - February 6, 2016 Suddenly, on Saturday, February 6, 2016, while on vacation in Mexico with her husband of almost 49 years, Ted Nowak, Edith passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years. Besides her loving husband Ted, Edith is survived by daughter Elizabeth (Peter), grandchildren Mark and Sophia, brother Jacob (Zofia), niece Anna (Will) and nephews Mathew and Andrew and relatives in Canada and Poland. Edith was born in Czechoslovakia during the Second World War and spent her childhood in Poland. She immigrated to Canada in 1962 with her family. She spent most of her life working at Holy Spirit / Entegra Credit Union where she was well liked by all who knew her. Edith greatly enjoyed travelling, having been to the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico many times. One of her favourite places to visit was Bermuda where she travelled 20 times to see her daughter, son-in-law and her two beloved grandchildren. Mark and Sophia were her pride and joy and she looked forward to daily updates on their progress at school and extra-curricular activities. Edith fell ill and was hospitalized in August 2015 but in recent months she felt much better and looked forward to a warm vacation in Mexico with Ted. She enjoyed three days of sun, sand and happy times with Ted. Unfortunately Edith died very peacefully in a hospital in Playa del Carmen with Ted at her side. She is gone far too soon, but we know that she will watch over us. We are grateful to the staff and doctor at Azul Fives Resort for taking care of Edith and for making all arrangements on the family's behalf after her passing. Our heartfelt thanks go out to family and friends who provided endless support through visits and phone calls with Edith after she became ill last summer. She loved people and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She will be remembered for her kindness and her sense of humour. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Father Sebastien Gacki officiating. Enichement at a later date in Oakville, Ontario as per Edith's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's memory may be made to the Manitoba Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. We love you and will miss you forever. Condolences appreciated at www.cropo.com CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
