Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN DAVID MARTENS May 9, 1958 - February 17, 2016 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Brian Martens on February 17, at Riverview Heath Center at the age of 57 years old. He was predeceased by his brother Daryl and his father Henry. Brian will be dearly missed by his mother Lois, sister Linda (Zacharias), and wife Karen (Pahpasay), along with numerous family and friends. Brian was born on May 9, 1958 in Winnipeg. He was a great lover of rock and roll music and was known for his ability to fix things, from cars to appliances. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, with no thought of return. He will be remembered as a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, husband, father-figure, grandfather (Papa), as well as a friend. At Brian's request, a private service will be held.

It was a wonderful pleasure in having Brian as a friend from the late 60's through to the mid 70's. We both shared the love of many rock and roll bands of the day and were inspired with the new unique energy of the era. It was with great sadness when I read the news about Brian's passing and now realize his ordeal with cancer is now over.
