Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRIEDA SAWATZKY (nee JANZEN) April 11, 1925 - March 1, 2016 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Frieda Sawatzky, beloved mother to John Paul Sawatzky, has been called home by God. She is now reunited with her husband, John (Sr.), who predeceased her in 1988, and also with her five siblings, all of whom went on before her. Left to mourn are Frieda's son John (Monika) Sawatzky; grandchildren, Matthew (Meghan), Andrea (Scott) Mader, Dana (Garrett); and great-grandchildren Erin and Richard. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay Street, with viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Douglas Mennonite Church Refugee Fund or Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba.
