KEN ARLT May 18, 1951 - March 2, 2016 Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Ken passed away after a brief fight with cancer. Ken leaves to forever cherish his memory, his best friend and wife of 43 years, Linda (Schroeder), son Jason and daughter Kristen Matyas (Noel) and grandchildren Luca, Roan and Zara. Ken is also survived by his mother Dorothy, brother Cliff (Anne), parents-in-law John and Heidi Schroeder, as well as an extremely close extended family. Ken was predeceased by his father, George, in 1980. Growing up, Ken liked playing hockey, family fishing trips and fast cars. In 1976 Ken founded Arlt Homes, enjoying nearly 40 years of building homes. He loved road trips, listening to music, gardening, fishing with his grandkids at the cabin, and the desert scenery at his house in Phoenix. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, followed by a gathering at the church. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made in Ken's name to CancerCare Manitoba or North Kildonan Mennonite Church.
