PETER CHRUNYK With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Peter at the young age of 67 on March 1, 2016. He is survived by and will be missed by his loving family, wife Louise, sons Tyler and Anthony, Hamilton, and our dear cat Scooter; his parents Waltraud and Paul, sister Irene; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Arthur; and other family here and abroad. Peter was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Florence and Martin, and by his brother-in-law Ray. Peter retired from Sears appliance sales one and a half years ago and has since dedicated much of that time to assisting and attending with care, to the needs of his parents. Peter and Louise were fortunate to partake in a beautiful month-long holiday in Florida in fall 2015 as a result of retirement freedom. Peter enjoyed holidays in Florida, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas but Key West became his favorite place. Peter and Anthony enjoyed many hours of quality time together pursuing the art of fine wine making and they achieved exceptional results. Tyler, Hamilton and Peter, would gather around the fire pit and took great pleasure in each others company discussing a multitude of topics. They also savored a yearly "boys trip" to Minneapolis. We have many fond memories of convening around the fire with family members on starlit evenings with a glass of fine family crafted wine, and often sitting around a family dining room together in celebration of special occasions. Peters chair will never be the same. Peter so looked forward to his annual fishing trip in early summer with Karl, Barry and Ken. They always returned with fantastic fish stories. He and Arthur enjoyed many Scuba diving and fishing adventures together as well. Peter was looking forward to smoking more Goldeye this summer. Peter will be missed. He was a good man who gave to charities and readily helped someone in need. Thank you to the emergency responders and paramedics who tried diligently to bring Peter back, and to nurse Sarah at HSC emergency who showed caring and compassion to our family. Flowers gratefully declined, rather please consider a donation in Peter's memory to Prostate Cancer Division of CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice. The celebration of Peter's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Monday, March 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

  • Just letting you know you certainly gave Peter a beautiful celebration. The love for Peter was evident in the large crowd of family and friends who came to pay their respects. The tributes from Karl and Hamilton were simply right from their hearts. The slide show was awesome put together by Arthur and family. Betty added to the table by making her peanut butter cookies that Peter loved so much. We left the celebration realizing how rich Peter`s life was and how loved he was. We know Peter would have loved this. Peter was a wonderful man in many ways and will never be forgotten.
