I have known Hank for many years through my dealings with him at the Planning Property and Development Department at the City of Winnipeg. I found Hank to be very professional in our dealings. He was very cordially, approachable and easy to get along with. He will missed and my condolences go out to his family. Farewell my friend. - Posted by: Julian Saj (Friend) on: Mar 15, 2016

I had worked with Hank since I started with Contempora Steel Builders as a summer student back in 1988. Hank was a true judge of character as he was responsible in interviewing, hiring, training and educating many eager young students, myself included. Hank had an unselfish attitude and willingness to share and teach without holding anybody back. He was a very caring and sincere person which made him a joy to work with, even though at times you had to stop and think about what he was saying, just to realize just how funny he actually was. If he ever caught you answering "SO" to him he would reply "No but sometimes I knit!" Go figure? Hank you will truly be missed. Fair well my friend. - Posted by: George Constantinides (Co-Worker) on: Mar 14, 2016

Hank was also my "first boss" as far as my transition from a field employee to an office employee. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor in that he made sure to take the time to explain things and made sure you understood what was expected. I can attest to the pranks, though not on the receiving end very often, I was definitely an accomplice to many. Bob Gagnon, I may have taken the staples out of your stapler a few times, but only under duress! I was told I'd have a million fleas back up into my arm pits if I didn't do what Hank said, god knows I didn't want to experience that!! In all seriousness, Hank will be missed by everyone, his kind heart, gentle soul, and amazing sense of humor was adored by all. We are all lucky people to have shared time with Hank, miss ya buddy....I know you'll be waiting with a mop and bucket for me to swab the poop deck with you!!! - Posted by: Steven Karlenzig (Friend) on: Mar 14, 2016

Hank was my "first boss" in my young career. I have many fond memories of learning about engineering and experiencing a project start to finish. He was a mentor and instrumental in developing my skills. And yes, I second Bob's comments, there were many practical jokes played on co-workers that saw him as our ring leader. An amazing sense of humour! You will be missed. - Posted by: Jaret Horbatiuk (Co Worker) on: Mar 12, 2016

You were taken from us far too soon. There are so many stories and memories...too many to write about!! Thank you for not just being my uncle, but my good friend. You took me under your wing many years ago and we treasured the time we spent together. Lots of laughter and some serious in depth conversations (until you would tell me your brain hurt). I am grateful for the time I spent with you in your last few days not knowing you would pass on. Our last conversation was a good one. There will always be a huge void in my heart and in my life as we did so many things together. RIP 'unc' - love Annette, John and Ashley - Posted by: Annette Lissenberg (niece) on: Mar 12, 2016

I have worked with Hank since 1979 and he was a great friend and co-worker. Extremely funny and love to play a joke or two on co-workers. Sorry we cannot attend the memorial as we are returning from Mexico on March 23rd. I certainly would have been there had I been in Winnipeg. - Posted by: Bob Gagnon (Co-worker) on: Mar 12, 2016
