PETER W. HUTCHISON 1927 - 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our dad (Bumppa) Peter William Hutchison at the Pine Falls Hospital on March 7, 2016. He is survived by Rae, Guy (Verna), Kim, Heather (Jim), Karl (Carol), ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Pearl. Dad was one of the first children born in Pine Falls to a mill employee. As a young man of 14, dad went to work in Dauphin as a farm helper. In 1943, Dad returned to Pine Falls and worked in several departments throughout the mill, eventually becoming the lubrication supervisor until retirement. Dad was a member of the Pine Falls Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and the chief for eight years until 1986. Dad was active and enjoyed being involved in minor hockey for over 25 years, as a coach, manager and executive. He toiled endless hours after work and on weekends to help give the area what it needed, through his volunteerism and caring for his community. He has been a mentor and a teacher to many. He never expected anything in return except to see his community thrive. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In his later years, he travelled to Snowflake, MB helping on the farm and deer hunting. We would like to thank the home care staff for their compassion and dedication to Dad. This allowed him to stay in his home for as long as he did. Dad was grateful for all your friendship. We would like to thank Dr. Mohamed and the caring staff at the hospital, the handi-van for your care and kindness, and the Sunnywood staff. Thanks to the people of Pine Falls, past and present, for taking time to say hello or stopping to help in their own way. A private service will be held this summer.
