Lew was predeceased by his father Gordon, his mother Mildred and his loyal dog Sheba. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Gordon (Arlene), daughter Rachel, grandson Brandyn and granddaughter Jayme. Dad was retired from of the University of Winnipeg - Maintenance Dept. where he developed some good friendships and often talked fondly about times he shared with those friends. Grandad shared a very special deep bond with his grandson Brandyn. They spent countless hours together, just talking "s**t". Grandad also spent many years as his granddaughter's #1 hockey fan. Dad cherished his relationship with both his grandchildren and always enjoyed the time he got to spend with them. Many of Dad's most memorable years came from spending his summer's at his cabin in Minaki, Ontario, with his "River Hog buddies" where he was well known as "The Boss Hog". In later years Dad truly enjoyed his daily visits with his longtime best Bud, Ken MacKenzie. A quote from Ken "I am gonna miss you big time Bud!!" The family would also like to Thank Ken for being such a loyal friend to our father. Cremation has taken place, and in keeping with Dad's wishes, there will be no service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Winnipeg Humane society.

Lew and I always had time for each other as we met in the halls on on the campus grounds. He was the first person to say "Welcome back" when I returned to the Uof W after nine years away. A special man who left a special imprint on this world. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Glen Bergeron (Colleague) on: Mar 21, 2016
