JOSE DA ASCENCAO SENRA On Monday, March 14, 2016, surrounded by family and after a lengthy illness, Jose beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 77 years. Besides his wife Maria of 49 years, he is survived by daughters, Fatima (Jose) and Anabela (Luis) of Winnipeg and grandchildren, Jonathan, Dylan, Mathieu and Vanessa. Jose also leaves to mourn his passing his two sisters and one brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Julia and Ilidio Senra. Jose was born in Portugal on February 25, 1939 and married the love of his life Maria on January 12, 1967. They immigrated to Canada in 1974 with their two young daughters. To provide for his young family, Jose worked in construction. He was a devoted husband, loving father and the world's greatest grandfather who would do anything for his family. In his leisure time, Jose enjoyed fishing, but his true passion was his love for music and dancing. An immensely proud man, dad was a fighter until the very end when he finally succumbed to his illness. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel.
