ABRAM (ABE) PENNER It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear father, Abe, on March 13, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital. Dad was born in Ukraine on May 22, 1928 and immigrated to Canada in 1948. He settled in Elm Creek, MB and farmed there till he moved to Winnipeg, where he worked in construction and started a family. He was predeceased by his wife Ellie, in 1989. He is survived by his daughter Melanie, along with many immediate and extended family members. Dad enjoyed nothing more than being outdoors whether it was wielding a chainsaw to do chores at our Lester Beach cottage, tending the garden, or tackling a backyard project. He also enjoyed spending time with the family dog, Lexie. Dad took pleasure in simple things like a good cup of coffee and a bacon and egg breakfast. Special thanks to the ICCS staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care. Dad wanted a private graveside service, which was held on March 16. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation - Heart Section. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
