HAROLD ELLIS MCMAHON October 3, 1938 - March 17, 2016 On Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon MB, Ellis McMahon of Gunton and formerly of Stonewall, MB, passed away at age 77. Predeceased by his wife Rose McMahon (Carriere) in June 2015, his father Mike Glowachuk in 2002, stepmother Mary Glowachuk (Pawlust) in 2005, his mother Thelma McMahon (Grantham) in 2002, his stepfather Milton McMahon in 1971, two brothers Neil McMahon in 1986 and Wilfred Glowachuk in 2016. Left to morn his passing is his two daughters Michele McMahon and Vicki Bulas (Brian), two grandsons Jesse McMahon (Lynnea) and Eric Allarie and a great-granddaughter Harmony McMahon. Also left to survive is his brother Bob (Annette) Glowachuk, two sisters Gail (Bill) Dueck and Verna Ross, as well as numerous relatives. Ellis loved many things in life including his time in the RCAF from 1956 to 1963. He travelled and saw many places during his time there. In 1964, he met and married his wife Rose and started his career at Grip Clinch Fasteners Ltd., in Winnipeg, where he worked his way up to manager and where stayed until his retirement. After he and Rose retired from their jobs, they moved to the homestead in Gunton in 1998 where they spent the last few years with family and friends enjoying their time. Ellis enjoyed many years spent with his grandsons, as well as snowmobiling and fishing with family and friends and "puttering" on the homestead right up until his passing. Anyone who knows him knows that his chainsaw was his best friend while he lived in Gunton. The family would like to thank all the staff of Hunter Memorial Hospital for the care they gave Ellis' while he was there. We would also like to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and assistance with everything you have done after Ellis' illness left him unable to take care of things. Your kind words and deeds will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and a family and friends memorial will be held in Windsor Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at a charity of one's choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204-467-2525 info@mackenziefh.com

  • Ellis and I worked together at Grip Clinch Fasteners for a couple of years. I went with the company to Calgary and returned to Winnipeg working again with Ellis when I went into another field of endeavor. Ellis was a hard worker and knew his trade very well. He was always smiling and had a good disposition and friendly way about him. Ellis will be missed by all who had the good fortune to have known him. Rest in peace. My sincere sympathy is extended to his family. - Posted by: John (Jack) Reay (Fellow worker and friend,Kelowna,B.C.) on: Mar 26, 2016
