PHYLLIS DAVIS It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother, Grannie, Great-Grannie, sister, aunt and friend, Phyllis Davis of Winnipeg on March 20, 2016 at the age of 75. Left to cherish her are her children Wendy (Fred), Evan (Belinda), Shelley (Dave), Kenneth, Lee (Crystal), Shawn (Charlene), Marcel, Coulton, Donna and her favourite cat Moki, grandchildren James, Paige, Anita Rose (Stefan) of Victoria, BC, Samantha (Ryan), Kayla, Jenny Rose, Taylor Rose, Piper, DJ, Frank and honorary granddaughter Lorraine (Fred), son CJ and missy from Fisher River, great-grand- children Kalvyn, Kentyn, Miranda, Riley, Carter, Mason, and Fletcher, siblings Bill, sister- in-law and friend Beverly, Allan, sister-in-law and friend April, Gerry (Hazel), Wayne, Joan Auger, cousin and friend Irene Wheeler, many nieces, nephews, and special friends Aline, Shelley, Charmaine and many others. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Jack, son Rodney, mother Mary, father Jewett, mother-in-law Alice, sisters Margaret and Karen, her sisters-in-law and friends Merle and Corrine and brother-in-law Al Mcrae. Born in Matlock, Manitoba and raised throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas, Mom would share memories of her childhood, especially having to walk one mile each way just to get to school in the middle of the winter or how her sister would wear her clothes. Mom had many hobbies including volunteering at the local food bank and The Manitoba Foster Parent Association with sister-in-law Bev and outings with the Brooklands women's group especially when they were painting pictures. Other hobbies were crocheting blankets for all her children and grandchildren, watching Storage Wars, and her stories, listening to Joey and Rory Feek, Johnny Cash or Gaither Gospel music. She loved Dale Earnhardt Sr. and collected anything with his name or number 3 on it. For those who were blessed to know her they knew how caring, generous and loving she was. Always putting others before herself, even during her time of need. For 29 years she was a foster parent and cared for dozens of different children during that time. She would babysit for friends and family including pets, for anyone who asked. She was the most amazing woman and has touched so many with her loving spirit. Keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. In honour of mom's favourite colour, the family will be wearing Red. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local animal shelter as mom had love for all animals. Love one another as I loved you

To all my cousins, family and friends of my Aunty Phyllis. I am there with you in spirit today as Aunty was a person who will be forever in my heart until the day I pass. She was truly a wonderful person who made me feel special. She was such a support to my mother (Merle) when she wasn't doing well and our family is greatly appreciative of that. She always put herself out for others and that kindness will be her legacy. I Love You Aunty and have thought of you often. And still will. - Posted by: Darcy (Nephew) on: Mar 29, 2016

My deepest condolences to Phyllis's family, especially to my dear friend Wendy Crocker and her family. I first became friends with Wendy back in 1992 and then met her mom and the rest of the family, I came to love Wendy and her mom and family as if they were my family too. I attended so many family functions and felt so welcomed by each of them. Telling stories, joking, eating delicious food I loved being with them all. Phyllis was a very loving lady. Rest in Paradise Phyllis (Mom) and may God embrace you all through this difficult time. Sending love and prayers to all. Terri Favel - Posted by: Theresa Favel (Family friend ) on: Mar 27, 2016

When I first met Phyllis, she was very shy. But I could tell she had a warm heart. Over time she'd have more to say. We had a lot of fun a the lady's group. Phyllis had talent in art that she didn't believe she had. Never had a bad word to say about anyone. Everyone who met her fell in love with her loving personality. I am really going to miss her. Sleep peacefully my sweet friend. - Posted by: Helen Pynn (friend & fellow foodbank volunteer.) on: Mar 26, 2016

Granny, you were one of the sweetest people I had the pleasure of knowing. Your heart was so big and full of love and life right to the end. You were such a spunky lady, all of James' stories about you would have me in stitches. Thank you for lighting up the world. Rest in paradise.xoxo - Posted by: Ashlee (Friend) on: Mar 26, 2016
