ESTELLE CHARACH
Born: Mar 30, 1927
Date of Passing: Mar 26, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTELLE CHARACH (GROENING) March 30, 1927 - March 26, 2016 With deep sorrow, yet with rejoicing, we announce that Estelle Charach went home to meet her Saviour on March 26, 2016 at the age of 88. She will be deeply missed by her four children Robert (Alison), Lawrence (Ellie), Rosalie (Kim), Bradley (Susan), and her ten grandchildren: Brenda, David, Ryan, Sarah, Steven, Maria, Michael, Jonathan, Anna and Noah. She is survived by her brother Russell Greening (Lenore) of Edmonton, Alberta. Estelle was predeceased by her husband Paul, her parents, Anna and John Groening of Lowe Farm, and her nephew, Dale Greening. Estelle was born and raised in Lowe Farm, Manitoba and lived her entire adult life in Winnipeg. She was a devoted wife to her husband in every way; especially as she supported him to return to school to complete his grade 12 education and go on to achieve his university degree at the age of 65 despite his life of health challenges. Estelle's great joy was her children and grandchildren. She was always ready and willing to help in any way. When she moved to Winnipeg in her late teens, Estelle became a dedicated member of Grant Memorial Baptist Church which she attended all her life. Having a servant's heart, Estelle always extended love and served others to the best of her ability. In her senior years, she was known for her cheerful folding of weekly church bulletins and faithfully calling and praying for those unable to attend church regularly. Though Estelle would have loved to be a stay-at-home mom, to support her family she worked at Fraser's Art Supplies for many years where she made several lifelong friends. Estelle's life was characterized by simplicity and contentment and most importantly by her quiet, steadfast faith in her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Through a life of much hardship, she learned to put her trust in God...always giving thanks for the blessings in her life, especially her family. For her own life and to others, she offered this wisdom - "take it to the Lord in prayer and leave it there". She will be fondly remembered for the contribution she made to community life at Calvary Place Personal Care Home. She always had a positive word to give and although Alzheimer's disease robbed her of her capacity in many ways, there was something special about our mom that staff, residents and visitors came to know and love. We express our heartfelt thanks to the leadership and staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their compassionate care of our mother. We rejoice that Mom's mind and body is restored! Mom is now joyfully worshipping in heaven. In memory of Estelle's life, donations can be made in her name to: Linden Christian School: Newcomers' Bursary Fund to support immigrant families seeking Christian education, but in need of financial help. A celebration of Estelle's life will be held on March 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue. Interment will be a private family gathering at Lowe Farm, Manitoba. Rob & Family, Our condolences to you. I [BJ] remember your mother's warm greetings whenever we saw her at church. Tom was the recipient of many KitKat bars from her when he worked at the church. May the memories and lessons learned from your mother/grandmother Estelle be as sweet and tasty as those chocolate bars!
