AGNER (JACK) WESTERGARD 1920 - 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce Jack's passing, peacefully, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the age of 96. Jack is survived by his loving wife Lena, of 77 years, his daughter Shirlie; grandson Jeff (Jen); grandson Mike (Kathy); great-grandchildren Melissa and Trent; brother Wes and sister-in-law Beth of Calgary, and sister Edith of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Edele Westergard; brother and sister-in-law Andy and Liza Westergard. Jack was in the Air Force during the Second World War. Jack was a printer by trade. He owned Acme Letter and Printing until retirement. After some time off he returned to work for Spartan Printing as a sales executive. Jack always worked very hard and had a great sense of pride in everything he accomplished. Jack always conducted himself with honesty and integrity, be it in business or his personal life. This garnered him many friends during his long life - whether here in Winnipeg or Florida, where Jack and Lena spent some 20 odd years through the winter months. There was always happy hour or a spirited card game with their friends. Jack had a real love of horse racing and at one point owned race horses at Assiniboine Downs. He loved music and dancing. It was through this that he met Lena at a dance hall. One dance turned into 77 years of shared love. Our family was truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in our lives for so many years. We will all miss him very much. A private service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016.
