Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL STASIUK September 10, 1935 - April 8, 2016 Peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2016, Mike passed away, with loving family by his side, at The Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his son Michael, daughter Wanda, grandsons Nate and Griffin, brother Ostap (Rose), sister Stephanie (John), sister-in-law Winnie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased, by his loving wife Joan (nee Beaton), sisters Myrtle and Helen, brother Peter, brothers-in-law Joe Wallack and John Stasiuk, as well as two infant brothers. Mike was born September 10, 1935 in Poplarfield, MB. Later he took over the family farm and became a successful cattle rancher. In November 1968 he married the love of his life Joan (nee Beaton) and soon after started their family with the birth of their son Michael and daughter Wanda. Mike was a very devoted family man who enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Mike loved to hunt and fish with his two brothers. He was very talented when it came to using his hands. He spent countless hours and much sweat enjoying Taxidermy, Carpentry and creating numerous larger than life sculptures. Mike also had a love for nature and animals of all kinds. Mike's (Gigi's) face would light up the minute his two grandsons Nate and Griffin would enter the room, he was so proud of them. Wanda would like to express her gratitude to the exceptional care her dad received in the Arborg Assisted Living Centre, Selkirk Mental Health Care and the Golden West Centennial Lodge. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Poplarfield Community Centre. If friends so desire donations can be made to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or a charity of your choice.
