KRISTINE ANDERSON SIGVALDASON February 5, 1922 March 27, 2016 Kristine passed away peacefully on March 27, 2016 at the Arborg Personal Care Home at the age of 94. Kristine was predeceased by Palmi, her husband of over 66 years, on January 20, 2016. She is survived by her children Cecil (Wendy), Ollie (Len), Dianne (Dale), Warren (Sally); grandchildren, Wade (Merrilee), Keith (Pam), Brandy (Bill), Tyler (Michelle), Tim (Jen), Justin (Kim), Dana, Kristin and Amy; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kirsten, Leif, Danika, Kataryna, Bryce and Brielle. Kristine is also survived by her siblings Beggi (Josephine), Lillian (Lawrence), Doreen (John) and Martin (Barbara). Kristine grew up on the Anderson family farm in Ledwyn. She was the second oldest in a large family (11 children) and worked hard with the farm work and helping her mother with her younger siblings. Kristine moved to Winnipeg in 1942 and worked for Eaton's to deliver parcels during the war. She returned home after the war to help again with the family farm. Later Kristine worked at Thorarinson's store in Riverton where she met Palmi. Kristine also worked for Statistics Canada for 10 years in the 1970s. Kristine and Palmi farmed in Geysir until they retired to Arborg. Kristine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, Amma, Long Amma, friend and an exceptional knitter. She was a strong, smart and modest woman who worked hard and diligently all of her life. Thank you to all the caring staff of Home Care, Mary Thorarinson and Arborg Personal Care Homes. Also a very special thank you to our dear family friend, Marlene Nordal Taylor for all her love and support. A celebration of Kristine's life will be held together with her husband, Palmi, on May 19 at the Arborg Bifrost Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Kristine's name to Arborg Personal Care Home, Box 10, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0.
