Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE CHABOYER March 18, 1949 - April 8, 2016 Peacefully, on Friday, April 8, 2016, Wayne passed away at the Stonewall Hospital following a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer. He was loved by his wife of 44 years, Ruth, his children Trudy, Marcel (Raina) and grandchildren Lesly and Andre. He was also loved by his siblings Michael, Lori, Toni, Marty, Ken, and Ted and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Esther (nee Williams), father Frank Stanley Chaboyer and sister Allison. Born in Stonewall, Wayne's family moved to Winnipeg where he spent his early years before returning to Stonewall at the age of 12. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1967, sailing on the HMCS Annapolis and HMCS Restigouche. He served honorably in Montreal during the October Crisis in 1970. He met his future wife, Ruth, while stationed in Halifax and brought her back to Stonewall where he began his career as an upholsterer. There he spent many happy years, bringing up his children and enjoying his favorite things: canoeing, fishing, camping, bonfires and dancing with so many family and friends who knew him as "Uncle Wayne". In keeping with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Ruth and Wayne's home in Stonewall.
