RYAN ANTHONY KUSIAK It is with extreme sadness we announce that Ryan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the age of 25. Ryan was born on January 30, 1991 in Winnipeg. He is survived by his loving parents, Karen Woods and Tony (Lori), brother Kyle (Jessica), sister Andrea, grandmother Eleanor Woods, 21 aunts and uncles, 21 first cousins, 22 second cousins, girlfriend Kaylee Gauthier, beloved cat Prince, and many close friends from childhood and Pharmacy school. Ryan was predeceased by his grandparents Stefania and Czeslaw Kusiak and Alexander Woods. Ryan graduated from Maples Collegiate in 2009 and from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba in 2014. He excelled in his studies and received several scholarships and bursaries. Ryan was the "strong silent type", a gentle person, known to many as quiet and reserved. However, he was often loud with his friends and was good at starting conversations, never being one to just sit there in awkward silence. Ryan enjoyed playing sports, especially football and soccer, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved watching action and comedy movies and listening to hip hop music, especially the artist Drake. He also liked learning the words to his favourite songs so he could sing them. Ryan was proud to be Polish and had a big Polish flag over his bed. He loved his cat, Prince. Before he chose Prince at the Humane Society, he spent many hours researching different cat breeds. Ryan loved to eat and had a big sweet tooth. He was interested in architecture and also wanted to travel and see the world. A celebration of Ryan's life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Fr. Sam Argenziano (Holy Rosary) will officiate the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ryan's honour to The Winnipeg Humane Society. Ryan, we love you and miss you. You remain in our hearts forever.
