Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON ROBERT BURR February 7, 1937 - April 19, 2016 With great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa and friend. Gord passed away at the Concordia Hospital after a hard battle with dementia and a blood disorder. Gord will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Beverley, his daughters Michelle (Morris) and Andrea, grandson Peter, his dear little Puddy (Sandra), brothers Bill and Richard (Mary), Bev's family, and many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Gord was heartbroken by the death of our son Dave on February 7, 2014. He was also predeceased by his parents, Florence and James Burr, Bev's parents, Grace and Stanley Mickolson, his sister Florence and husband Lawrence Macauley, and sisters-in-law Barbarae Burr, Joyce Anderson and Amy Burr. Gord grew up in Elmwood and attended Lord Selkirk School. He entered the printing industry at a young age and was a pressman at Canadian Publishers, Stovels, and Kromar Printing. Gord then moved into Fine Paper and Graphic Arts Supplies. He was a very successful salesman and shared his knowledge and love for the industry. He was past president and life member of the Winnipeg Club of Printing House Craftsmen. He loved hockey and was past president and life member of the M.M.J.H.L. He spent many years watching and working for "his team", the St. Boniface Riels. Gord also golfed and was a regular at Cottonwood for many years. He was an avid "do it yourselfer", and built many rec-rooms, fences, chairs, toys, etc. Gord loved a good joke, chocolate, animals, dancing, camping and "LARGE" bonfires. As per Gord's wishes, cremation has taken place and a small family gathering will be held. Our thanks to Dr. P. Harris, Dr. R. Johnson, and the wonderful people in N1N Concordia Hospital. We are very grateful for the care you gave Gord. Thank you to our neighbours for all their help. Special thanks to neighbours Joyce and Ian, my sister Heather and her family, and our nephew Keith. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to St. Andrews on the Red, 5402-Highway 9, St. Andrews, MB R1A 2Z8 would be appreciated. "In our hearts, forever."
