GLORIA LORAIN PEDERSEN
Born: Dec 18, 1935
Date of Passing: Apr 27, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA LORAIN (LORRAINE) PEDERSEN (nee SCHMALL) December 18, 1935 - April 27, 2016 It is with profound sorrow that the family of Lorraine Pedersen announce her sudden passing with her family by her side. Lorraine was predeceased by her mother Alma Demers, her husband Anker Pedersen, and her daughter Joanne (Kimmy) Pedersen. Left to mourn are her daughter Suzanne (Ben) Helmich, her son Darryl (Donna) Pedersen, and her daughter Tara (Darcy) Richardson; six grandchildren Aaron (Cheryl) Frederickson, Carmen Gregoire, Lorissa Helmich, Kristina Pedersen, Kurt (Stephanie) Pedersen, Logan Richardson; nine great- grandchildren; her brother Gordon (Linda) Demers, and several nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Winnipeg, and raised in Morris, Manitoba. She eventually met the love of her life Anker on a train she would take to Winnipeg to work. In 1954 they married and began their family of four children. Dad and her children were the centre of her universe. She was always very involved in the interests and activities of her children, and quite often played the role of super mom by having to be in many places at once, yet always seemed to make every event. Always so proud, so encouraging, her unconditional love always present. When dad worked away from home for many years, she missed him terribly. But when he returned for his days off, it was always a very joyful reunion for the whole family. Mom catered to dads every need so his short time home was pleasant and comfortable, true Valued family time. Mom developed a great love for the game of curling, which helped her get through the long spells when dad was away. She curled for many years and never lost her passion for the game, and eagerly looked forward to watching curling on T.V. Mom worked in stonewall as a waitress for many years. First at Moores Cafe, then at smileys, and finally at millers. She loved her job, and always had a big smile and a kind word for each and every customer. When mom became a Christian, she found a great love in her Lord and in her faith. She so enjoyed being involved with all of the church activities, and was especially proud of her role as the "phone lady" in organizing the senior events that she found especially fulfilling. Mom was greatly loved by all who knew her. Her sense of humour, warmth, and love for all, will always be remembered. She always had a big smile and a warm hug for everyone she met. Moms passing has left a huge hole in our hearts and lives. Her deep love for her family will forever be missed. Mom, (Gigi) we love you so very much and will miss you terribly. And although our hearts ache for you, we are so happy that you are at peace, reunited in Heaven with dad and Kimmy. The family would like to say a special thank you to Stonewall Paramedics and Seven Oaks Emergency staff. And to Michelle Loehmer and the Home Care staff, as well as Stonewall Handivan. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall. Pastor Bruce Ford officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Frederickson, Kurt Pedersen, Todd Demers, Maurice Gregoire, Steven Robertson, Jordan Wares. Honorary pallbearers Mark Grindy, Earl Irving, Kevin Wares, Ron Haaglund, Greg Wyatt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alive Family Church Seniors, Box 373, Stonewall, MB, R0C 2Z0. It is the 1 year anniversary of my grandmother's (G.G'S) Funeral this weekend, actually today, and Wow, does it ever feel like it just happened yesterday, Especiallly after seeing her smiling face this morning, it automatically makes me miss you even more as I'm sure all miss you! It still hurts my heart to think I won't get to race Destiny to give you a kiss first or for you to meet your 1st great great grandson due on Destiny's 21st birthday, well in person that is because I know you're smiling down upon us with your truest love of all Anker Pedersen and your beloved daughter Kim ( my aunt and God mom) so please watch over Destiny, Riley and baby Roman. We love and miss you all xxoo - Posted by: Larissa Helmich (Grad daughter ) on: May 06, 2017

Lorraine was the beautiful sister of our brother -in-law Gordon. We were so fortunate to have known Lorraine and the rest of the family. She was a kind, happy, and inclusive lady who always seemed to look at the bright side of living. Her smile was infectious. We will always enjoy our memories of this unforgettable woman. Our sincere condolences for your family loss, but find strength in the conviction of Lorraine's faith that her soul lives on. - Posted by: MARY AND GRANT HAGMAN (NONE) on: May 06, 2016

My grandma was ALWAYS smiling, and the first thing anyone would do, when we all got together, was give grandma or great grandma,( whatever she meant to that person), a kiss and sometimes it was a race to who would get to kiss her first. She always made it to my daughters (oldest great grand daughter) Destiny's concerts or graduation or whatever the event was, even when it was hard for her to get around, but again always smiling! It meant and means the world to my daughter (destiny) and myself that she would be at the events and like I said even if it was hard on her to get to the destination she was there. My daughter only has one set of grand parents and great grand parents and now both great grand parents have passed, but we take comfort in knowing that my grandma is in the arms of her love of her life Anker ( my grandpa) and is reunited with my god mom aunty Kimmy. I bet aunty Kimmy is playing the piano while grandma and grandpa enjoy listening and watching her play. You will be forever missed grandma! You truly are a beautiful lady and I look up to you and will for the rest of my life. Love you always and forever your grand daughter Lorissa - Posted by: Lorissa Helmich (Grand daughter) on: Apr 30, 2016
