BENITO DOMENICO (DOMINIQUE) BERGESE April 14, 1927 - May 1, 2016 Peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016 Dom passed from this life at the age of 89. He was a proud man who passed in quiet dignity. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Rosemarie Bergese. He leaves to mourn his passing, his only daughter Donna Bergese, son-in-law Greg Romaniuk, and his one and only grandson Brandon Romaniuk. He was born and raised in Winnipeg's core area. After graduating Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, he went on to the University of Manitoba where he achieved his degree in Pharmacy in May of 1951. After graduating from the University of Manitoba he enjoyed a 48 year career as a pharmacist. Dad was a proud, life long member of the Knights of Columbus - St. Josaphat's Council, where he enjoyed his volunteer work raising funds for Catholic causes. The family would like to express our sincerest thanks to all the Emergency Responders, and the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, The Revera Group and The Golden Door Personal Care Home for the quality of care he received during his stay at these facilities. As a strong Catholic I know that Dad appreciated the efforts put forth by Father Barry Schoonbaert, and Father Sam Argenziano who assisted him in his final journey home. We would also like to thank the members St. Josaphat's Council for their prayers and support during this difficult time. A celebration of Dom's life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., we will start with the rosary being led by the Knights of Columbus, with a service to follow officiated by Father Sam Argenziano at Korban's Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. A private interment will be held for Dad at Waverley Dignity for immediate family only, at his request.
