ANNE SCHROEDER Into the arms of her loving Father, Anne Schroeder (nee Penner) passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the age of 98. Born October 3, 1917 in Rousa,Stara Russia, Anne moved to Canada at the age of nine. She was predeceased by her husband Ed; parents Anna and Peter Penner; siblings, Peter (Tena), Henry, Katie (Pete), Mary (Henry); and beloved brother-in-law Bill. She is mourned by her son Rick; daughter-in-law Cristine and daughter Kirsten; grandchildren, Mark, Ryan and Valerie and partner Shawn; sister Beth Kathler and brother Cornie and wife Thelma; sister-in-law Iola and countless nieces and nephews. Strong and beautiful, she got things done and was the bedrock of our family. Family meant everything to Mom, and she made sure that we all stayed connected. She will be deeply missed. Memorial service will be held for family and friends at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue on Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes will take place before at 12:30 p.m., Brookside Cemetery. Many thanks to the staff of Bethania who cared for her in the last chapter of her life. If friends desire, donations may be made to Bethania Personal Care Home (Spiritual Care Program) or Ukraine Ministry, The Mennonite Benevolent Society.
