EVELYN THIESSEN November 10, 1960 - June 9, 2016 Evelyn Luise Thiessen (nee Ulrich), born and raised in Winnipeg, passed away suddenly and peacefully in her sleep at home on June 9, 2016. She was a loving and devoted wife, an amazing mom and a wonderful Oma; she prioritized her God, her family, and her friends. Working for Air Canada for nearly three decades afforded Evelyn and Gary the opportunity to indulge a passion for travel, seeing much of the world together and with their children. She loved visits with her granddaughters, leading worship at church, spoiling guests in her home, floating in the pool, and curling up under the covers after a warm bath on a rainy day. Evelyn leaves to mourn her husband of 29 years Gary, son Nicholas (Amy) Thiessen, daughter Victoria (Marcus) Matychuk, granddaughters Magnolia and Adaline Thiessen, sister Monica (Geoff) Kyle and family, brother Edwin (Scarlette) Ulrich and family, and many more beloved relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Manfred and Ingrid Ulrich. Arrangements are pending, and an additional notice with service details will follow. Gifts in memory of Evelyn can be made to Camp Nutimik in lieu of flowers.

I am sending my condolences to Evelyn's family and friends. I am so saddened to hear of Evelyn's passing. When I worked with Evelyn at Air Canada she was my Hollywood partner. Oh how we loved to talk about all the stars, analyzing their every scandal and marriage, and speaking as though we had all the answers to their problems. The laughs we shared with all of our analyzing will remain with me forever. Evelyn always made me smile when she spoke of her family. So proud and just so in love with them. Evelyn will never be forgotten and will be missed by all. Evelyn, you always were the star. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Donna Silman (Freind and retired co-worker) on: Jun 15, 2016

I grew up as the little cousin and always looked up to the senior ones. Way back when I met Evelyn, it was obvious that this was an amazing, funny, and friendly woman and we were all lucky to have this new cousin! Apparently everyone who knew Evelyn knew this. Gary I'm so sorry that your time together was cut too short. My thoughts are with you and your family and all the Tofield cousins. I was also shocked and saddened by the news of Evelyn's passing...I grew up with her family and enjoyed the many times she spent at our home being best friends with my sister Cindy. She did have a laugh that made everyone laugh and I extend my deepest condolences to the entire family. May her journey be guided by the angels... - Posted by: Connie Coutts (Family Friend) on: Jun 14, 2016

I am shocked to see that Evelyn has been taken home. I just sat beside her at the last Rowandale Tea and we talked about her children and her love for her grandchildren. May God's peace run through your lives at this time of sorrow. She has left a legacy of love! - Posted by: Esther Dyck (Friend) on: Jun 12, 2016

It it with a heavy heart that I write these words about our dear friend Evelyn (Evy). Evelyn was one of a kind; an infectious laugh, a bright smile that lights up the room, dressed to the nines, strong willed and full of life, loving and thoughtful, fun and energetic, spiritual and a believer. Evelyn and I shared many laughs and talks in and out of the office and on our adventurous trips together. The highlight was when when Evelyn finally got to go to the sought after Oprah show. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gary, Nick and Victoria, their families and to the Air Canada Family that were fortunate to have worked with her. Evelyn will leave an irreplaceable void in the workplace but the stories and the memories will live in all of our hearts forever. Rest in peace, you are in paradise and until we meet again. - Posted by: Tammy Galvao (Friend and colleague) on: Jun 11, 2016

I too am shocked and saddened with the passing of this beautiful person who I was honoured to call a friend. Evelyn loved life and her smile lit up a room. I knew Evelyn best in her earlier years but catching up to her on Facebook and I could see the love and devotion she had for her family, friends and God. I know God will willingly accept Evelyn home, it just saddens me we could not have more time with her. Evelyn's legacy will live on. She was loved by so many. RIP my dear friend. God has called you and we will always keep you close to our heart. - Posted by: Ronda Pfeiffer (Friend) on: Jun 11, 2016

We are so shocked and saddened about the loss of our special friend, and our hearts go out to all the family. She made such a positive impact on everyone whose life she touched, and we are so blessed and honoured she was a part of ours. She will be greatly missed, especially her laughter and her jokes. Not to mention the great travel stories of when we were in........ And although we are sad for her loss, we are at peace knowing she she has been welcomed home by her Lord, and her mom and dad. - Posted by: Sheldon and Charlene (friends) on: Jun 11, 2016
