LYDIA FROESE May 28, 1920 - June 5, 2016 Peacefully, and with loving family at her side, Lydia Froese slipped into eternal life. She was born in S. Russia to parents Franz and Kathrin Dyck who soon immigrated to Manitou, Manitoba. John and Annie (Voth) were older siblings. She chose nursing and took pride in being an R.N. from St. Boniface Hospital. Marriage to Bernard, her lifelong love and a physician, brought them to Winnipeg where they raised their family except for several years in Winkler. Lydia will be remembered for her laughter, her generous hospitality, her love of books and history, her positive spirit and her deep faith in the goodness of God. Predeceased by Bernard, daughter and granddaughter Cathy and Christa Wilton, great-granddaughter Audrey Wilton, we give thanks for her imprint on our lives: John (Irma), Elvera, son-in-law Rich (Cheryl) Wilton, Frank (Colleen), Eleanor; niece Helena (George) Fitzsimmons, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service and luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastview Community Church, 3500 De Vries Ave., Winnipeg (East Saint Paul). Interment: family service at Manitou Cemetery. Thanks to Donwood Manor for competent and attentive care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Aviation Fellowship Canada-U403, or Donwood Manor Personal Care Home.
