I am greatly saddened by the death of my dear friend Susan, but am grateful for the more than fifty years that we've known each other. Susan was a loving, caring, intelligent lady and over the years we shared many confidences, times of joy and of worries, youthful celebrations and the concerns brought on by illness and age. Her gift of asking that I walk with her on her final journey here on Earth and advocate for her during her long hospital stay will be one I will hold dearly in my heart. I will forever cherish the love, caring and trust we shared in these past months and in the years previous. Rest in Peace, Susan. And to the family: may your many memories sustain you for all time. - Posted by: Joanne (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2016

It has been a long time since I last saw Auntie Sue but I remember her with very fond memories. I remember, as a child, her visiting our home and the fun and great laughs that we all used to have. Time passes, children marry and move away and we continue our lives but we never forget those we love. My heart goes out to you at your loss and my thoughts are with all of you. She was always known to me as Tante 'Zeus'. Years ago, as a young bride to her nephew, not knowing the correct German spelling, I wrote a thank you card calling her this. She laughed so hard she nearly cried.....I will fondly remember her for that spectacular smile, her ability to make anyone feel comfortable, and as a wonderful conversationalist. We had many great chats over a glass of wine at my Mother in laws, (Hilda) home. My condolences to the Johanna and Peter and to the whole family..... God Bless. - Posted by: Louise D, Lage (Former Aunt and friend) on: Jun 21, 2016

I will always remember the cabin at Lake Brereton as a small child. I have such wonderful memories with Auntie Sue going down to the edge of the water by the steps and swinging our feet in the water and having fun. Those were very good and happy times. You are all in my thoughts. - Posted by: Shannon Schindle (Niece) on: Jun 21, 2016

Your Mother and I worked together for many years at John M. King School. I always admired her ability to work so successfully with difficult kids. I considered her a good and loyal friend. My sympathies are with you, her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of you . Jim Patterson - Posted by: Jim Patterson (friend and former principal) on: Jun 21, 2016
