FRANK SUSTARSIC Peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Frank Sustarsic passed away with his family by his side at the age of 82 years. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Amalia; his parents, Joze and Maria and his brothers, Lojze, Joze, Tone and Ivan. He will be lovingly remembered by daughter Beneta (Marko); granddaughters, Vanessa and Sabrina and many family and friends in Slovenia. Frank was born in the tiny village of Podreber, near the town of Semic, Slovenia on June 15, 1934. He immigrated to Winnipeg, MB with his wife Amalia in December 1957. Together they struggled and succeeded to have a better future. Frank was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, as well as a proud member of the Slovenian Club in Winnipeg for many years. Frank was an avid fisherman, huntsman, skier and biker in his healthier years. He also enjoyed gardening and his favourite past time - winemaking. Frank was a very strong willed and hard-working person. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters. For the last eight years, the Maples Nursing Home was dad's home. We would like to thank the staff for their care and dedication. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Frank's memory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Avenue with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Viewing will be one-half hour prior. Interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church hall following interment. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. Ps 23:1-3 CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
