ALICE ANTONIUK With her loving husband John and dear son William by her side, Alice Antoniuk was peacefully embraced by God, on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Holy Family Home. Alice Sianchuk was born on April 14, 1941, in Sandy Lake, Manitoba, educated in Dauphin, attended Marvel Beauty School in Winnipeg and eventually taught at Pollock Beauty School. While in Winnipeg, she met the man of her dreams, and eventually her husband John Antoniuk, or affectionately "Johnny", and was blessed with 54 years of true love, marriage and devotion. Throughout the years, Alice was involved with many non-profit organizations and through her relentless leadership became board and committee members of many of them. Notably, she was an ongoing volunteer at Holy Cross School and St. Paul's High School, thus leading her to become president of the St. Paul's Women's Guild. She later became involved with the Canadian Women's Club and she eventually became president. For many years, Alice served as a Eucharist Minister for St. John Brebeuf Church. She was also on the Board of Directors of Holy Family Home from 1995 to 2005. The respect was later returned when she entered as a resident last year. The ladies and colleagues she met became lifelong friends, as Alice had touched many lives and will be remembered as an "angel on earth". Alice will be lovingly missed by her beloved husband John Antoniuk, loving mother of Justina, Jo-Ann (wife of David Borger), William (and wife Anna) and Michael (with wife Dorothy). She was treasured grandmother of Everett, Verona (McCaffrey), Hayleigh, Alisa, David (Borger), Grace and Mary-Kate (Antoniuk), as well as cherished sister of Anthony (along with his wife Gaylene) and many family and friends. Alice was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Sianchuk and brother Alex. Prayers and viewing will be held on Thursday, July 7, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 St. John Brebeuf Place. Service officiated by Father Mark Tarrant. Appointed pallbearers are Mervin Picklyk, Glen Antoniak, Jason Sianchuk, Peter Donner, Everett McCaffrey and David John Borger. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care given by the devoted staff at Holy Family Home. The love and compassion made our dear Alice happy and comfortable. Thank you. God has blessed us for knowing this beautiful soul, may the soul of Alice Antoniuk rest gracefully in the peace and love of God's hand. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Alice Antoniuk can be made to Holy Family Home, (204) 589-7381. CROPO FUNERAL HOME 204-586-8044

  • Sorry for your loss. I'm sure we all will miss your sweet young lady. Though Alice is not around any more, you have some special memories to pause and sort in your mind. I'm sure that you have some funny times to get the children to sit and talk about. A little bit of time can be found to ease your pain. Take care from the Didora family.
