DIANE ALICE PAJAK
Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANE ALICE PAJAK (nee ABRAHAM) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and mormor, Diane, on July 11, 2016 due to cancer. An inspiring teacher, a devoted friend, a loving sister, and an avid traveler, she lived her life believing every day had the potential to be great. It was her positive attitude and determination that saw her through the last challenging years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Erik, of 53 years, her son Brian (Kelly), daughters Erin (Kenny), Dana (Bruce), and Carmen (Kelly), her granddaughters Brooke and Holly, and several grand-dogs whom she loved. As per Diane's wishes, no service will be held but family and friends are always welcomed at the family home. She has chosen to be cremated to be a part of the places she loved most: I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn's rain When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not think of me as gone I am with you still in each new dawn - Mary Elizabeth Frye The family wishes to thank Dr. Ogaranko, Dr. Daeninck and their team at the Victoria Hospital who gave us three additional, wonderful years with her. To the nurses of the Palliative Care program, our thanks for your support and guidance cannot be fully expressed. To Dr. Mare for his conscientious council, the wonderful team at Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care, and the family and friends who sat by her side, we give you thanks. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed for the Riverview Health Centre Foundation. Please visit: https://riverview.tng-secure.com/?moduleId=donations and select the "Palliative Care Unit 3E" Fund. In her words to us always, "This too shall pass..." To the Pajaks, Mrs Pajaks was a wonderful and warm person, I'm sorry to learn her passing away. I remember visiting their home quite often back in my high school days, wishes your family health and happiness, and will always cherish the times I spend with your family. Mrs Pajak was a great teacher and a wonderful person. One of my fondest memories is when she was handing back tests, she called me up to the front to get my test and as she handed it to me she leaned forward, I then proceeded to kiss her on the cheek, the class roared and she got quite a good laugh about that as I turned bright red. I am very sorry to hear of her passing, the world is a better place because she was here. My sincerest condolences to the Pajak family. - Posted by: Gareth Fern (Student) on: Jul 19, 2016

Mrs. Pajak was my favourite teacher in St. Adolphe School; when I graduated from Grade 9, Mrs. Pajak read three wishes that each of us wanted based on her knowing us ... and she was bang on with my first one "to take The Little Prince (from the book) and send him back to his planet to remain forever". She was a great gym teacher too! Girls would have certain excuses to not go to gym each month, and she was very stern to say that if we want to make it to the Olympics, that is NOT an excuse. Mrs. Pajak always knew or would turn around from the chalkboard and know WHO wasn't paying attention and WHO was up to something. I am really sorry to hear of your loss. So many memories are coming back to me. She was very kind, caring, and her laugh was one in a million! Please know that you are all in my thoughts. I'm so dreadfully sorry for your loss. I know what you all are going through. I lost my mum to cancer in October, and I am still devastated. I had Mrs.Pajak in grade 4 and 9. I remember her being tough as nails, and as fair as the day is long! She also genuinely cared about her students. I remember a cold winters day when I came in from recess with hair caked in snow, and soaking wet. It didn't matter to much how it got that way(afterall we were kids playing outside.) She sent me home to dry my hair and get dry clothes. Later explained to me(in a stern voice) that I could have gotten quite sick! And that would have meant missing school! My sincerest sympathies to you all! Love Gillian xoxo - Posted by: Gillian-Fern Loeppky (Student) on: Jul 17, 2016

I worked with Diane in St. Adolphe a number of years ago. A spitfire doesn't even come close to describing her. I always have a smile on my face when I think of her, and what a way to be remembered. May your happy memories help console you in this sad time. - Posted by: Kathy dupuis (Friend ) on: Jul 17, 2016
