ILEEN MARY ALEEN ANDERSON (nee DYRDA) 1937-2016 It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Ileen on July 12, 2016 with her family by her side at the age of 78 years while visiting in Victoria. Ileen will be sadly missed by her husband William (Bill) of 51 years; her children, Brent (Michelle), Kathryn (John), David (Heather); grandchildren, Jesse (Ashley), Brittny, Brendan, Allison, Reagan, Tanner, Kian; great-grandson Ramses; brother Myron (Sharon); sisters-in-law, Hazel Dyrda, Shirley Wonnacott, Elsie Anderson, Aunt Pearl Dziedzic and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ileen was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Dyrda and her brother Harold Dyrda. Ileen was born and raised in Teulon, MB on a mixed farm. She went to teachers college and taught at schools in Hyche, Matlock and Grand Marais. It was while teaching in Grand Marais that she met the love of her life Bill. Ileen and Bill were married on July 10, 1965 and moved to Stonewall to raise their three children. Mom's family was her first priority and her love for them was unconditional. Ileen enjoyed following her children and grandchildren around with their sports and activities. Mom was a member of the Stonewall United Church where she taught Sunday school. In 1996, Ileen contracted Churg-Strauss Syndrome which changed her life forever. Mom became confined to a wheelchair but with her faith, strong will and the most supportive husband a wife could ask for, Ileen continued to enjoy life for another 20 years. Along with her flowers and garden, mom cherished any time spent with her family; including yearly visits to Victoria to see her daughter's family. Mom's family wishes to thank Dr. Pinniger and the Stonewall hospital staff; her dedicated homecare workers that helped to look after her over the years and the Adult ICU team at Victoria General Hospital. A funeral service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall, MB on Wednesday, July 20 2016 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at the Stonewall Cemetery.
