MAXIMA MERCADO DACANAY It is with great sadness that the family of Maxima Mercado Dacanay announces her passing on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Maxima was the wife of Felicisimo Mendoza Dacanay (1991) for 50 years and is survived by her four remaining children, Bert (Clara), Estelita (Michel), Elizabeth (Alex) and Rick (Jenny), and her sister Petra in the Philippines. She is predeceased by her daughter Anita. She will be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren in Canada and the Philippines. Maxima was born in Batangas, Philippines on May 13, 1927 and came to Canada in 1982. She cared for her residents at the Sharon Nursing Home on Magnus Ave. as a companion for 20 years.
