Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRON THEODORE HRANKOWSKI November 4, 1940 - July 7, 2016 Myron passed away peacefully at Holy Family Home on Thursday, July 7, 2016. He will be dearly missed by his Redemptorist community and his dear friends and family, especially the volunteers and staff of Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky Shrine. He was predeceased by his parents, Myron and Elizabeth Hrankowski, and his brother Paul. He was born and raised in Winnipeg. After the death of his younger brother Paul, Myron's needs were cared for by the Redemptorist parish community until his passing. Myron had a challenging life as he lived with his limitations. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church and spent many hours volunteering at the Bishop Velychkovsky Martyr's Shrine. His joy was to welcome pilgrims into the Shrine. His life centered around the church. He had great faith in God, especially in the Mother of God, and would be often seen praying devotedly. He was involved in the Parish Seniors' Club and enjoyed socializing with friends. He loved all that was Ukrainian, especially church music. Myron loved to travel. His greatest joy was when he travelled with a pilgrimage group to Ukraine in 2008. He belonged to the West Kildonan Horticultural Society and had great knowledge of plants and flowers. Myron had a child's heart and purity, always grateful for the help and support he received. We thank the staff and Sister Servants at Holy Family Home for the care he received and to Dr. Taras Babick for the years he cared for Myron's health. A special thank you to Dr. Andrea Babick for the hours she spent in prayer by his side during his last days of life. The Parastas Service will be held at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by a Redemptorist priest on Thursday, July 28, also at St. Joseph's at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bishop Velychkovsky Martyr's Shrine, 250 Jefferson Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2V 0M6.
