Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE LYDIA KENNING With great sorrow, the family announces the sudden passing of Elsie Lydia Kenning on July 21, 2016, at the Stonewall Hospital, at the age of 89. Left to cherish our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother are her family: Marilyn and Allan Jones, Jason Jones, Chad and Carla Jones (Isla and Alex); Peggy and Gary Fontaine, Erin and Derek Walsh (Sofie, Wyatt and Emmett), Brett and Alyson Fontaine (Olivia, Blaire); Dennis and Nikki Fontaine (Ava); Gary Kenning, Fawn and Mark Bouskill (Merik); Tessa Kenning and Josh Dew (Essence, Rayden); Cheri Kenning and Jeremy Foster (Bentley); Rena and Stefan Loewen; Toni Kenning (Hana and Mekhi); Amanda and Dwayne Chenier (Jackson, Kali), Tyler Kenning and Amy Kidd. Mum was predeceased by her husband Jake in 1996; infant son Rodney, son Jack in 2000, her parents, brothers and sister. Born on August 4, 1926, she grew up in the Rockwood district. She married Jake on May 19, 1950 and spent most of their married life on the dairy farm, where they raised their children. Mum was very involved in many aspects of their farming life as well as in the community. She was a 4-H leader, belonged to the Rebecca's, the United Church and the Horticulture Society. In 1991 Mum and Dad moved into Stonewall where she lovingly cared for her flowers, her dog, her home and also volunteered at the Adult Day Program. Mum resided at Rosewood Lodge since September 2013, where she participated in all activities, and became a very special resident. The family would like to thank all the staff at Appleyard Bay for their excellent care and concern. As per her wishes a small family service will be held in her memory. Sincere condolences to all the family on passing of Aunt Elsie. She was a wonderful lady and we will always remember her warm friendly smile. Aunt Elsie introduced me to chocolate pudding when I was 6 years old and it has been a life long passion.
