GLORIA ST. GODDARD It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gloria St. Goddard at the age of 88, on Friday, July 22, 2016 in the comfort of her home after a courageous battle against cancer. Gloria was born and raised in St. Laurent, Manitoba where she met and married Nelson St. Goddard on July 3, 1948. After marriage, Nelson and Gloria remained in St. Laurent where they raised their eight children. Gloria's lifetime passion was raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, travelling, visiting the USA to shop and playing bingo. Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband Nelson St. Goddard Sr.; her parents, Ovila and Marcelline Chartrand; three grandchildren, Kevin Buors, and Jason and Joni Gross; son-in-law Ritchie Beer; brothers, Roy, John, Leo, Albert, Cyril and Joseph; sisters, Valerie Tremblay and Bertha Wolansky. Gloria is survived by her children, Nelson Jr. (Elaine), Paulette Hnatiuk (Lawrence), Roberta Buors (Joseph), Earl (Sandra), Nancy St. Goddard (Randy), Bernadette St. Goddard, Marie Coutu (Lloyd), Loretta St. Goddard (Ronald); 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, also brother Patrick Chartrand (Diane); sisters-in-law. Lorraine Chartrand, Gracia Chartrand, Hilda Chartrand, Louise Chartrand, and Evelyn Ducharme. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg, MB. Prayers at 10:00 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jacques and Clint St. Goddard, Michael Hnatiuk, Andre Ducharme, Cyril and Craig St. Goddard, Ryan, Rodney and Ricky Coutu. A special Thank You to the staff of the Selkirk General Hospital Palliative Care Unit; Home Care Workers, especially Diane Diell who was so caring for Mom, and also Dr. Burnett who looked after Mom for so many years.
