WILLA MAY KUMHYR June 21, 1943 - July 21, 2016 Peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2016 (Mom, Nana, Billie) Willa May Kumhyr was reunited with her husband Maurice Allan Kumhyr and daughter Sherry Lee. Although Mom (Willa, Billie) had it rough for the last few years, since the recent passing of her husband and her illness, she remained an extremely strong and loving woman. Billie missed her home and friends at East Braintree where she lived most of her life, but loved her time living in Portage la Prairie. Mom spent much of her time with family, working on puzzles, crossword books, and watching the Amazing Race or fix it shows on TV. She is survived by her daughter Tracy and grandson Zander; daughter Gayle, (Patrick) and her granddaughter Kenzi; and all her brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Viscount Gort, 1670 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. There will be an opportunity for an open mic, so please be prepared to share memories of Mom from the podium. We will love you always and miss you dearly.   • I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Billie during the last number of years in her work life. Billie was easy to like, always conscientious and friendly on the job even as her health began to get her down. I will always remember a woman of integrity, and her easy, spirited laugh. My condolences to her family, it's been tough the last while with Allan and now Billie passing away.
