JAMES MARTIN PARISIAN
Born: Oct 01, 1951
Date of Passing: Jul 24, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) MARTIN PARISIAN October 1, 1951 - July 24, 2016 We regret to announce, with profound sadness and shattered hearts, the sudden passing of Jim. Jim was born in Winnipeg, on October 1, 1951 to Pamela and Clifford Parisian. He was predeceased by his father Clifford Parisian, baby brother Christopher, and father-in-law Joseph Williams. Left to mourn his passing are: his beloved wife Margie of 44 years; his only son Ryan; his precious granddaughter Syenna (his brightest star); his mother Pam; sister Carolyn (Murray); brother Shaun (Lynda); sister Tracy (Rick); mother-in-law Audrey Williams; brothers-in-law, Joe (Mary), Brian (Darlene), Mike (Heather), David and Steven. Jim also leaves his Uncle Malcom and Auntie Gwen and cousin Corey and family. He also had a special relationship with his ex-daughter-in-law Kelly Parisian, numerous nieces and nephews, and so many very close and wonderful friends (you all know who you are). We can't forget to mention his two granddogs, Archer and Ryder, he loved them both so very much. Jim was a hard-working, ambitious man. He started his own business in steel fabrication with just a handful of employees, but grew it into a very profitable company of which he was so proud. The business strived and then amalgamated with a larger company. This is where he met his match in Raini Habgood. They, together as a team, created even more success and in doing so became much more than just partners, they had a very special bond that will never be broken. They then were purchased by one of the largest and most successful companies in the United States and as a result, Jim was happily retired for the past six years. Jim was such a large presence in peoples' lives. He touched so many who knew him. Jim was a friend in every sense of the word. He was a Christian man and it showed in all aspects of his life. He was always doing for others and absolutely not wanting anything in return. Jim's greatest passion was being at his cabin at Big Whiteshell Lake. Here he made many lifelong friends. He was always busy, either building something, cutting most of his neighbours' grass, or just tinkering in his garage. He loved seeing all the kids just out having fun. He actually had a slurpy machine and a popcorn machine in his garage for any who happened by. It was rather funny, he was known as "Mr. Slurpy" on block six. We could go on and on talking about who Jim really was, to sum it up he was a stellar human being, loved and respected by all who knew him. He certainly is leaving a big footprint behind. We would like to thank Pat Roberge for being there for Jim and driving him to the Beausejour Hospital. It must have been very difficult for you being there when he expired. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, he had a good friend with him until the end. Jim, you will forever be in our hearts and minds. We will miss you terribly, but knowing that you are with our Lord and that we will meet again for eternity is very comforting. Rest in peace my love, I will love you forever and a day! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jim to Siloam Mission. As per Jim's wishes, there will be no formal service. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030

Jim and I used to hang around with Dave Neubold and Paul Terry. We used to drive around through the city and just enjoy each other's company. On a Saturday morning we went to the Hudson Bay downtown and buy cigars called hillbilly crooks. So here we where driving down Portage Ave all smoking these cigars with the smoke billowing out the windows it looked like the car was on fire. Later on I believe Jim fell in love with Margie and then we kind of lost touch. I just found out today June 8, 2018 that he passed away. My very deepest condolences to Margie and the family. - Posted by: Ernie Wall (Good friends in our teenage years) on: Jun 08, 2018

Sorry to read of your loss Margie. I always thought of Jim as a dear friend and even a brother when I went through hard times back in Winnipeg. He was a kind, generous and funny man who always had time to lend a hand. I will always remember our times together at the Optimist conventions. Margie, it's taken me a while to actually accept Jim's passing. He was a great business partner and an even better friend. We travelled extensively together both in business and for holidays. I can't remember how many times we would get to some airport to fly home, only to find out we were a day late, an hour late, or on occassion the wrong airport. You will be missed by all my friend. - Posted by: Wayne Keating (Ex business partner and friend) on: Sep 05, 2016

Dear Margie. Hearing about Jim's passing was like having the rug ripped out from underneath one's feet. It took a awhile to get my balance after that sad news. One occasion of his generous nature will always remain vividly etched in my mind. The details are irrelevant; but his actions defined the essence of what it is to just be a nice person. I'll never forget that occasion. Our deepest sympathies at this very sad time. With many fond memories of Jim and his beloved Big Whiteshell Lake.
