Henry is mourned by his beloved wife and life partner of 63 years, Margita; and his four children and their spouses: Marlies Sudermann (Chris Newton); Paul Sudermann; Betty Neufeld (Werner Neufeld) and Theresa Sudermann. He also leaves behind the legacy of his grandchildren: Jason Neufeld (Brianna); Nicole McMullen (Cody); and Alina Newton; and two great-grandchildren: Drew and Blake Neufeld. Also, his sister, Margaret Toews; and many nieces and nephews. Henry was born July 12, 1930, in Chortitza, Ukraine to Nikolai and Elisabeth Sudermann (Epp). He came to Canada as a war refugee in 1948, and was very happy to be able to make a new life in Canada, first in Rosthern and Hanley, Saskatchewan and since 1949 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was baptized in 1951 by Rev. Enns of First Mennonite Church and married Margita (nee Loewen) there in 1953. He first opened in business with Harry Toews in 1955, and then later Simcoe Motors on Notre Dame Avenue until his retirement in 1992. A fuller account of his life will be provided at his funeral. Funeral service will take place at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be prior to the service. Henry and his family very much appreciated the extensive, excellent and compassionate care he received since 2010 at Bethania Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethania Personal Care Home.
