Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFRED WELLES JARVIS April 18, 1928 - August 25, 2016 Alfred Jarvis passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his wife Alice (nee Loney) in 2003; his brothers, Edgar, Jack, Jim and Esmond; and his sister Kay. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner Margaret; and his children, Barbara, Rhonda (Leo), Lyle (Darlene), Debbie (Alec) and Dawn (Grant). He also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well he leaves his brother Al (Bea). Dad was born and raised in Gladstone, MB where he met the love of his life Alice. The couple moved to Winnipeg and raised their family. Dad worked as a partner for the Imperial Seed Company until his retirement in 1983. They retired to Lac du Bonnet where they began their Golden Years. They enjoyed travelling down to Texas for many winters. A special thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital for all their care and compassion they showed to our Father. A Celebration of Alfred's Life will be held at St. James Kiwanis Village, Common Room, 90 Sinawik Bay in Winnipeg from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission or CancerCare Manitoba. My deepest condolences on your loss. Alph meant the world to my Aunt Margaret.He was such a wonderful, giving,caring and positive man. He always me kept in in the loop when my Auntie was ill, calling me daily with updates. He was her rock, inspiration and light . He often visited us here in North Vancouver with my Aunt Margaret and we always enjoyed his company thoroughly. He so loved all his daughters and spoke highly of all of you.May knowing how many peoples life's he touched help ease your pain.You were lucky to have had such a great father whom you can talk of with great pride and respect. Sorry to hear of Alfs passing, spent many happy times at their Cottage on Pinawa Bay, summer and winter, but the winters I will remember most. Snowmobiling with them and all our other friends in the late 70s and early 80s will always be a great memory of ours, especially New Year's Eve.
