Hazel was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother (Great Gran), cousin, aunt and friend. Left to mourn, honour and celebrate her life are her loving and dedicated husband of 45 years, Gerry; children, Carolyn (Darryl), Leonard (Carmen), Lisa (Gino), Suzanne (Michael), Derek (Michele), Maryann (Ryan), Jonathan (Ginette); as well as grandchildren, Jeremy, Gerald, Cory, David, Leeza, Shannon (Neil), Dana (Arvin), Lara, Anya, Nicholas, Sterling, Xavia, Ella, Jane, Kyra and Kali; great-grandchildren, Parker, Myla, Houston and Ethan; her sisters and brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in 1937 into a family of 13 children to Liza and Eric Isfeld of Amaranth, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg where she met the love of her life, Gerry. She completed a Bachelor of Education degree and raised a family. Hazel had a lifelong passion for politics, local and world affairs and The CBC (and often CJOB when the former made her too angry). Her devotion to her family kept her fighting strong for many years. She was the epitome of perseverance, resiliency and strength. Her support, love and guidance will forever be missed. The family would like to thank the WRHA Home Care staff, as well the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life for Hazel will be held on Monday August 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy, Winnipeg, Manitoba www.voyagefuneralhome.com

To Aunty Hazel, you are a great Aunt, and will forever be missed by me and many others. I still remember you giving me a 50 cent piece at a wedding in 1967 and I was able to buy a hotdog, fries and coke with it, can't do that today. I hope your journey is going well as I am sure it is, and that you are reunited with Granny and Grandpa, and the rest of the family in the great beyond. Your memory will live on with us and you are gone but not forgotten. - Posted by: Fred Buhay Jr. (Nephew) on: Aug 27, 2016

Mom, Thank you for taking me into your home and raising me as your son. My life today is a result of the upbringing you and Dad afforded me which would definitely be different otherwise. In this pain of you passing on I am happy that you are finally free of the pain you have endured for the last 15+ years. I will continue to raise my children with the love you have shown me and try to make you proud! Your son. - Posted by: Jonathan (Son) on: Aug 27, 2016
