He will be deeply missed by sister Natalie (Mike) Sucharyna; brothers, Ernie (Mary) Surminski and Larry Surminski. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Terry and Darlene Sucharyna (Ivan), Darrell (Ashley), Evan (Brittany), Allison and Taylor Surminski, Nicole (Trevor) Reimer and his great-nieces, Brooklyn and Rylee and great-nephews, Easton and Khyal. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Mary Surminski and his brother Gerald Surminski. Brian was born in Arborg, Manitoba on April 30, 1964. He attended Arborg Elementary, Arborg Collegiate and also graduated as a diesel mechanic from Red River Community College. After working at various garages he moved back to the family farm to work alongside his father. He also worked as a school bus mechanic for the Lakeshore School Division where he established friendships with the bus drivers and co-workers of the shop. In his free time Brian enjoyed fishing and making unique walking canes. He relished his time as the mascot for the Arborg Ice Dawgs. He brought joy to many children and seniors being Santa Claus at the Christmas parties. The family sincerely extends gratitude and thanks for the extreme compassion and care provided by the staff of the Adult Emergency and MICU of the Health Sciences Centre. Also thank you to Dr. Donnelly, Dr. Zahiri and staff of the Arborg Community Hospital. Thank you to all the home care workers and Lori, Cheryl and Gail for attending to his medical necessities for the last couple of years. A special thanks to Jeff Yaciuk and Jim Martin for helping him at times of need. He could always count on you.
