Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN LEJEUNE June 16, 1959 - September 4, 2016 Tragically, from injuries sustained while cycling off-road, Jean passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by family and friends. Jean will be remembered by his loving wife Astrid De Bruyn, his mother Annette, his sisters, Laurie (Jack) Olinkin, Charlotte (Ron) Lavallee, Viviane (Richard) Leonard, his nieces, Chantal (Richard) Oleschuk and their children Rachel, Melanie and Erika; Natalie Leonard; Jacqueline (Nolan) Shortridge and their children Avery and Brendan; his mother-in-law Fran DeBruyn; his brothers-in-law Rick (Patricia) DeBruyn and their children Brayden and Olivia; Jake (Joan) DeBruyn and their children James and Emily. Jean was predeceased by his father Marcel and father-in-law Henk DeBruyn. Jean had a zest for life and lived large. Intelligent and inquisitive, he looked at the world through the lens of a youthful soul, often taking risks, but always relishing the moment. Family was important. He took great pleasure playing with the children, often becoming the biggest kid himself. He loved travelling and went around the world touching five continents by the age of thirty-two. This passion for seeking adventure and new experiences continued through his life and was shared with his beloved wife Astrid. Gregarious and outgoing, Jean collected a myriad of friends from various walks of life, often connected to his interests, which included golf, ultimate frisbee, basketball, hiking, cycling, walking, aerobics, dancing, beer club and travelling. Friends and business associates appreciated his sharp business mind. He was generous, kind and helpful to people in need. Too young, too soon....we will miss his laugh, his faces, his joie de vivre, simply said, our Jean. May he rest in peace.

I am incredibly saddened to hear about Jean. So many memories flood back to me when I think of him and all the times we spent together as kids playing football and riding everywhere on our bikes, to our times growing up and then going to St. Paul's High School and finally on to University. I always looked up to Johnny not only because he was older than I am, but he always had an outgoing personality that drove people to him. I want to offer condolences to Astrid, to both the LeJeune and De Bruyn families from myself, my family and the rest of the Prenovault family. Johnny will be missed and we will think of him often. - Posted by: Paul Prenovault (Childhood friend) on: Sep 14, 2016

I was very saddened to hear about Jean's untimely death. I had the pleasure to work with him at Assiniboine Clinic. I am a radiologist and my group covered the clinic for many years. He was always reasonable to work with. Out of work we would occasionally see each other at the Rady. He was always gracious and interesting to talk to. Again I wish to send my sympathies to you and his whole family. Issie Krongold - Posted by: Issie Krongold (Work colleague) on: Sep 10, 2016
