MICHAEL JOHN MALKO After a long, hard fought battle, on Thursday, September 8, 2016, Mike passed away with family by his side, at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, son-in-law Rich, and his parents. Mike is survived by his children: Barb Bresson, Richard, Jo-Anne (Murray) Spark, Chris (Johnny) Galbichka, and Debbie Osiowy; grandchildren Paul (Angie), Steve (Cherie), Nicholas (Candy), Hali (Brian), Colin (Michelle), Jeff, Sharlene (Lenard), Heather (Kevin), Karen (Chad), Ian and Blair (Emilee); great-grandchildren Ashton, Shaylene, Braylin, Blair, Cody, Bailey, Brady, Katie, Rachel, Jacob, Isaac, Malakai and Bennett; sister Lorraine; brothers Jerry (Betty) and Freddy (Lil); and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was born on October 22, 1926 in Sapton, Manitoba. Mike and Mary were married on October 28, 1950. They lived in Hazelridge for a couple of years, prior to moving to Dufresne where they raised their family and farmed. Dad enjoyed farming, snowmobiling, and driving a school bus. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Paul, Steve, Colin, Jeff, Ian and Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas, Brian, Lenard, Kevin and Chad. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Panakhyda service will be said on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at The Immaculate Conception Church, Cooks Creek, Manitoba. Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Hughes, Dr. Fredette and Sister Irene for her daily visits which always put a smile on Dad's face. Our eternal gratitude to Ste. Anne Homecare staff and Ste. Anne Hospital staff for their kind words, amazing service and personal attention these past few years.
