THERESE FRANCES JEANETTE CONROY April 5, 1939 September 4, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden, untimely passing of Therese Conroy, a.k.a. "T.C.", Mum, Mrs. C and Mother T. To cherish her memories Therese leaves her sons Sean (Karen) and Brian, and many, many friends, acquaintances, bingo pals, casino partners, fellow Gold Eyes fans and Red Hat Society members. Therese was born and raised in Brighton, England. She lived in places like Borneo, Malaysia and Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1965. Once in Canada she moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, then Winnipeg, Elma, and finally Whitemouth, Manitoba. Therese was an extremely busy person and had a wide range of experience with leadership roles within various health care and community groups. For many years she served as Secretary Treasurer for both the Whitemouth Water Co-op Inc. and the Whitemouth District Health Centre Foundation. She also served as a board member for the Interlake Eastman Regional Health Authority. However, she did NOT like mornings. Therese had said many times that she did not like a day with two 8 o'clocks. With her magnetic personality Therese made friends everywhere she went. She was not only someone wonderful to talk with, she was also someone who could make you laugh, shed a tear with, be a shoulder to cry on, lend never-ending support, help people through tough times or simply share jokes, laughter, wit and wisdom. Therese loved to help people which is evident in the fact that at "retirement time" she chose to take on a 7 year term with the Manitoba Alzheimer's Society Travelling the North Eastman area helping people and making many friends along the way. Therese was recently honored for 20 years' service with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. She loved to read, play bingo, travel, bingo, enjoy EMCA nights in Pinawa, Manitoba, bingo, attend Winnipeg Gold Eyes games, flowers, bingo, birds, bingo, dogs, play scrabble, go to movies, try different restaurants especially the not having to do the cooking part, and it should be mentioned that she was an avid bingo enthusiast. Therese was an adventurous person and has tried hang gliding, zip lining, Richard Petty's Nascar Driving School in Las Vegas, annual Mother's Day Harley Adventures with Sean, and has powered through many bingo marathons. She always felt she was never too old to try anything once. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her, especially those who joined her on all her adventurous missions. To honor her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her wonderful Life will take place on Saturday, September 10 at the Whitemouth Community Hall from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Gold Eyes Field of Dreams Foundation, Nova-House in Selkirk, Mb, the Canadian Wild Life Federation, or a charity of one's choice.
