DEBORA JOY MELNYK November 21, 1956 September 16, 2016 "One More Angel In Heaven" My incredible wife Debbie is finally at peace. Her 14 year fight with cancer is over. She was the best person I've ever known. No one was ever kinder, loving, thoughtful, selfless, sharing, creative and dedicated. I've always felt blessed that she was my wife. We've shared more wonderful experiences over the past 28 years than I could possibly count. Some tough times as well. But I wouldn't have traded my life with her for anything. Debbie is survived by her soul mate, best friend and love of her life, John; her mother Joyce; brother Michael and daughter Kyla; sister Kim (Kirby); nephew Kyle (Danielle); father and mother-in-law John and Sonia Melnyk; sister-in-law Patti (Jeff); nephews, Daniel (Val), Kyle and niece Casandra. She will also be missed by her beloved Welsh Terriers, Callie and Hobbes. She was predeceased by her father Carl; uncle Kenny and aunt Marie; her Baba and Gigi Anne and Michael Siedlecki and her farm baba, Lena Antochiw. Debbie retired from the Grace Hospital after 30 years of service. She then found her calling as a member of the Harley-Davidson Winnipeg family. Debbie was destined to help others and it was here that she felt truly fulfilled. In Debbie's words, "My time with cancer was not a battle. Cancer didn't stand a chance against my spirit." Debbie was one strong woman. A hero in every sense of the word. She was an amazing person and this world is a sadder place without her. Until we meet again Bunny. Special thanks to everyone at CancerCare for all the years of taking care of Deb, especially Dr. Brandes, Dr. Butler and Robert. Special thanks as well to the 3E unit at Riverview. You were like family the past two months. A private memorial is planned. Flowers gratefully declined; donations in Deb's honour can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre. Online condolences may be offered at www.cropo.com. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

  • John my heart pours out to you as I know how deep your love for Deb was and will always be my friend... I remember it like yesterday when you meet Deb and introduced me to her at the gym some 25+years ago. The Love you two had for each other was just begun. Deb could light up a room with her wonderful Smile and of course her personality was such a delight it was hard to not want to be around her. My thoughts and prayers go out to you John and your families. Dean. - Posted by: Dean Moore (friend) on: Sep 22, 2016
