MAMIE FRANCES ELIZABETH LUTZ (nee LISZCZYNSKI) It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the age of 86. Mamie will be sadly missed by her daughter Linda; son Leslie (Barbara); grandchildren Paulani, Lateef (Marjorie), Shawna (Ryan), Alex, Carrie; great-grandchildren Ilyssia, Riker and Emmett. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Adam and her parents Paul and Frances Liszczynski; as well as son-in-law Halif. Mamie was born in Winnipeg on April 18, 1930 and raised in Armstrong, Ontario, and had many fond memories of her friends while growing up there. Worked at Western Packing where she met Adam, also worked at CNIB and retired in 1995 from Winnipeg Transit. Mamie was known for always cooking enormous meals. She especially enjoyed having large gatherings where everyone was welcome during the holidays. Loved family time, quiet times just sitting on the deck at Brereton Lake, listening to the birds, watching her children and later grandchildren swim. She always enjoyed a good card game with friends at the lake or home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Our sincere thanks to the Oak Unit nurses, care-givers and staff of Fred Douglas Lodge on Burrows and for care provided. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to C.N.I.B. or a charity of your choice. If we have been pleased with life, we should not be displeased with death, since it comes from the hand of the same master.
