Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGIA CHATZOGLOU July 16, 1953 October 12, 2016 After a short battle with a sudden illness, Georgia Chatzoglou passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the age of 63. She leaves behind, to celebrate her memory, her devoted husband Stavros Chatzoglou, son Christian Chatzoglou (Leah), daughter Marianne Mattheos (Vasili), grandchildren Stavros, Eddie, Nicholas and Zoe, her mother Ann Latsoudes, sisters Dimitra Kolitsas (Tony), Barbara Loutas (Dino), Kathy Olmstead (Chris), as well as many close friends and relatives near and far. Georgia was predeceased by her father Eddie Latsoudes. Born Georgia Latsoudes on July 16, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Georgia was a gifted student and a voracious reader, who skipped grade 2 and breezed through high school at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute. She then attended the University of Winnipeg where she majored in English. As a young girl, Georgia worked at Dairy Queen and Gramma's Candies. Later, she worked as a consultant for Clinique, and finally as a travel agent, eventually owning her own successful travel business for years. After spending a year abroad in Athens, Greece, Georgia returned to Winnipeg where she met and fell in love with her beloved husband Stavros Chatzoglou. They married on June 29, 1972, and together built an incredible life together filled with love and happiness. They raised two wonderful children, Christian and Marianne, who Georgia loved beyond limits. Georgia was a kind and generous person who had a large circle of friends that she kept in contact with throughout the years, even over long distances. She cherished her daily walks with her close friends. Georgia was known for being extremely generous, giving of her time and helping others whenever needed. She always lived life to the fullest having a passion for travel to Hawaii and Greece, books, music, baking and fitness. She was actively involved in the Greek Community, where she enjoyed volunteering and teaching Sunday School for many years. Georgia's bond with her husband Stavros was unbreakable. They were best friends, travel companions, business partners, proud parents and grandparents. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and to all who had the privilege to know her, a beautiful person both inside and out. Georgia's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre who took exceptional care of her during her brief illness. A combined prayer and funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave., Wednesday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. Coffee and a light lunch will follow after the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Georgia's memory to the Manitoba Hellenic Cultural Centre (MHCC). www.voyagefuneralhome.com

My sincere condolences to Steve, Christian and Marianne. I met Georgia, Steve and the kids many years ago through Gail Davies. Georgia was a kind and wonderful woman. I have known Georgia for about 20 years and ALL that I have ever seen from her is a GLOW of LOVE ....Georgia was the true essence of life only having kind words and doing good deeds for people....Her actions demonstrated this love to her husband, family and friends..... She always had a smile and only positive things to say ! Georgia is a true INSPIRATION of how a humble and kind person should live..... Thank you Georgia...You will be missed by so many !
