Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND DOUGLAS DUPAS In the arms of his girls, surrounded by the most love and compassion, Raymond Douglas Dupas passed away peacefully, on October 14, 2016, at the age of 80. He was a father, father-in-law, a grandfather, an uncle, a friend, a neighbour and treasured soul. He was best known to his grandchildren as "Papa, G-pa and Ol'Papa". Raymond is survived by and will be missed deeply by his three daughters: Colleen (Al), Lynn, Jodie (Trevor); grandchildren, Leigha, Evan (the boy), Brayden, Dylan, Fischer and Easton; sister Joan Herman; brother Ron Ellis (Heather) and special friend Vashti Greaves, numerous family and friends. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Florence, mother Marie Scales and his brother Ley Thornley Calvert. Raymond went to Daniel McIntyre, where he was the all-star football player. This experience led him to be the biggest Bomber fan! He had season tickets as early as the 1950s and loved to share any football stories. He enjoyed watching his sports, also known for reading his newspapers faithfully. Raymond was passionate about all of his career paths and the hardest worker. He started as a paper delivery boy, than purchased his bike to become a telegram deliverer (which was his favourite!). After helping several businesses prosper with his hard work, Raymond joined the Air Force in 1953. He then became a welder / fabricator and worked with JR Stevenson Ltd. for 50 years. He worked as an entrepreneur creating iron work in his downtime. Raymond was known for his meticulous carpentry work and for always helping others. He was very proud to share his stories and we were honoured to listen. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held Thursday, October 20, 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evan Hyslop, Brayden Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Fischer Zemliduk and Easton Zemliduk. A special thank you to Dr. Peter Bialy, Dr. St. Goddard, Bonnie and the caring nurses on the 5th floor Unit 1 at Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation in his honour. http://www.childrenswish.ca/ GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Your dad popped into my memory bank today. So I googled his name. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad and for your mom. My life long dream was to be a foster parent but I never married or had the kind of stable environment that would have nurtured children. Your parents were magnificent people! I was a troubled and confused teenager when I came to live with you on Regal Ave. Had I known then, what a gift they were! ( my life would certainly be different) I only wish I had reached out while they were alive to tell them what an indelible mark they left on my heart. May they rest in peace. I’m sure there are many like me, whose lives are richer because of their kindness. With love Candis Militere - Posted by: candis militere (foster daughter ( 1973) on: Dec 18, 2022

I worked with Ray at JRS for a number of years at the end of his career there. We always played jokes on each other. He was a good sport and we laughed a lot. He had a great sense of humor. I will always remember the things he taught me during our time working together. Rick W(another co-worker) and myself will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this most difficult time. Our condolences to his family. - Posted by: Paul & Lori Hermary (Friend & Co-Worker) on: Oct 20, 2016

To Ray's Family, I am so sorry that I am out of town and won't be with you to say goodbye to your Dad. I worked with "Frenchie" at JR Stephenson, for 25 of his many years there. Always a smile and a laugh - even when he couldn't really hear you! We were almost exactly the same age, by a few days, and I remember coming to his home when your Mom threw a surprise party for his birthday. I know he will be remembered fondly by many of his fellow workers at JRS. My sympathy to you all, Jan Jones - Posted by: Jan Jones (Fellow Employee) on: Oct 19, 2016

Ray was always there to lend a helping hand to my family and I. No project was too big a task for him to take on, and he did it with pride. Your help and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. We will miss you so very much. Our sincere condolences to the family. May you find comfort at this sad time in the name of the Lord. - Posted by: Marlene Moyo (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2016
