Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY BOGUSKI Peacefully, and with great dignity, on Friday, October 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, our dearly loved mother and grandmother, Mary Boguski, passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary (Robak) Balak, her husband, Walter (2002), her son, Donald (2015), her sisters, Florence, Olga and Teenie, brothers Walter and baby Orest. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Lorne (Linda) of Yorkton, SK and Wally (Barbara) of Phoenix, AZ, and daughter, Isabel (Walter) Lukie of Winnipeg; nine grandchildren - Jeff and Jason (Patricia) Boguski, Andrea Petryk, Tim (Erin), Chris (Tamara) and Mia (Liam) Lukie, Jennifer (Marc) St. Laurent, Jaime (Jeremy) Angus and Raymond Boguski; 15 great-grandchildren - Callym and Oscar Lukie, Anastazia, Lukian and Kazimyr Petryk, Wyatt, Amelia, Scarlet and Josey Lukie, Luc and Mila St. Laurent, Elena and Kenzie Angus, Haley and Marley Boguski; brother, Micheal (Lillian) Balak, and sister, Anne Boguski of Holy Family Nursing Home. There are many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart. Mom was born on July 2, 1919 on her parents' farm in the district of Zoria, MB. She spent her early years attending school, walking four and a half miles daily and completing grade 6. Her help was needed on the farm, therefore completing her education was not an option. She was a wise woman with a strong sense of traditional pioneer values, always had a positive outlook on life and upheld the importance of her spiritual and cultural roots. Her patience and undemanding needs sustained her throughout the challenges that she experienced in life. She married dad on October 13, 1940 at Zoria Church. Their life together was harmonious and complimentary - supporting one another and setting a great example for their children and grandchildren. She was always interested in what they were doing and encouraging them in their endeavors. Their home was always welcoming, for family, friends or neighbours. Mom loved fishing, picking berries and mushrooms, playing cards, listening to Ukrainian music, making quilts with Dad, picnics at Moon Lake, camping at Lake of the Prairies, Ukrainian cooking especially borscht, watching Price is Right, asking for scores of the Jets and Bombers, and her devotion to her church and Mother Mary. Thank you to Dr. Taras and Dr. Andrea Babick, for the wonderful care - both spiritually and medically that our mom was given. Special gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate staff at the St. Francis Unit at Holy Family Nursing Home. Thanks to all the "Marusjas" - for their kindness and care which was touching and exemplary. Mom loved you all! Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. on Thursday, October 19, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fr. Dmytro Dnistrian, CSsR. Interment will take place on Friday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. after a Panakhyda Service at Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel, Dauphin, MB with Rev. Fr. Raymond Lukie CSsR officiating. If so desired, donations may be made the Lubov Foundation - Holy Family Nursing Home. You will be missed, Mom. You loved and were loved!
